One night of passion…
Mayson McBride has spent the last decade restoring her family’s magazine empire with her two sisters. She loves what she does, but she can’t shake the feeling something’s missing. Which is why she jumps at the chance–incognito–for a single night of no-strings-attached sex with Holt Turner.
A once in a lifetime connection…
Holt’s been unable to forget the woman he shared one night of explosive passion, and he’s thrilled to get reacquainted with her at a weekend house party. What he doesn’t expect are the immediate feelings of need and desire–emotions he keeps firmly in check–upon their reunion.
A forever commitment…
When Mayson and Holt’s single night together leads to unexpected consequences, both must decide what matters most. Especially when a threat from Holt’s past promises to ruin their relationship before it’s barely begun.
My Thoughts
Merger to Marriage is the book two in the Boardrooms & Billionaires and it's about the youngest of the McBride siblings, Mayson. She's a graphic designer and part owner of a magazine company. While attending her older sister's wedding she meets a handsome man- they hit it off and spend one night together.. weeks later Mayson discovers she's pregnant and when Holt showed up in her sister's house party she has no choice but to tell him... Holt can't get her out of his mind but when he sees her again, He has no idea that this beautiful woman is his best friend's sister in law.. and he's shocked to find out that she's pregnant... He's attracted to her but to have a baby? To be a father?!
This is another light quick read that is very enjoyable! Last night I was craving for some pregnancy romance and this book hit the spot!
In my opinion, the story is mainly about how they struggle to figure out what they really want from each other. This would have been a typical marriage convenience romance book but with Holt's past and manipulative mother added a little spiced in the story. :)
The paced of the story is good with interesting characters... Holt and Mayson are likeable but sadly I don't love them. I didn't feel any deep connection since I guess because this is a short read (wish it was a little longer!) It was still entertaining that I finished it in one sitting.
Even though I haven't read the first book in this series, Merger to Marriage can be read as standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely read the rest of the series!
