Quick Thoughts: You Make Me by Erin McCarthy

You Make Me You Make Me by Erin McCarthy
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

2.5

Not my cup... heroine annoyed the hell out of me! She was too dramatic that it hurts to continue reading the book. It's either she wants to be with Heath or Ethan and she couldn't make up her damn mind! Top it off that she cheated? ugh. (and yes, in my opinion she did cheat with her fiancé!) She kept thinking and texting Heath while Ethan (the fiancé) is asleep! Then afterwards decided to meet him in his apartment while the fiancé is away.. nice girl huh?

And when Heath asked her if is she wants him to fight for her- she said YES. (and she asked this question while she's still in a relationship with her fiancé!)  Now while she finally decided Heath is the one she wants, she found out that her ex fiancé (Ethan) is "trying" to move on and she has the nerve to feel hurt about it!!!

I could understand some of her situations and feels. Heath was the love of her life and after all these years seeing him again awakened something in her but let me tell you, being in her mind and literally reading what she thinks was a pure torture! To be honest Heath or Ethan didn't deserve this woman. She was incredibly immature and selfish.. not a heroine I want to read.

Typical NA genre.. I just can't get over with the heroine. so 2.5 stars for me!

Quick Thoughts: Bounty by Kristen Ashley

Bounty Bounty by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this one! Though its been awhile so I had to re-visit the COLORADO MOUNTAIN SERIES as for some reason I quite forgot who the heck is DEKE. Lol!

BOUNTY has EVERYTHING why you love Kristen Ashley. Its pretty long and lots of inner thoughts from the heroine.. but its KA!

description

KA is one of these rare authors that writes a book and just hit you in the right spot! (Only a KA fan would understand that. lol!)

4.5 STARS for me. I guess the only thing that kinda irked me was the way they quite talk. Kinda poetic? They babble something so simple yet so hard to understand.

description

And also the heroine.. She sounds just like the hero, kinda like a biker. I feel like she doesn't have any identity... and sometimes I couldn't tell them apart. ugh.. Again I prolly not making any sense here. lol! But I noticed that in most of KA's books.. so I guess that's just her style.

Anyways, still a 4.5 STARS!

Quick Thoughts: Virtue & Vanity by Astrid Jane Ray

Virtue & Vanity Virtue & Vanity by Astrid Jane Ray
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

description

This is so sad because this book has everything I WANT! The plot was interesting, we have a cruel hero, hero who is inlove with ow, TSTL under dog heroine and they are in a marriage of convenience. Sounds promising yeah? Not really...

It just didn't do it for me. As I mentioned, the story line was good.. first few chapters was engaging but it quickly went down after that. The drama was MEH. I feel like I was just reading it and it should have made me feel like I'M IN IT. The way it was told was a lil off, some scenarios was all over the place that my mind couldn't even process it. There were some revelations but the way it was delivered was chappy and boring. For me the whole thing was lack of something. Everything just didn't sit right to me. I don't know.. I'm prolly not making any sense here again. lol!

I'm all into underdog characters- heroine with no backbone? Fuck sign me up! But the heroine here annoyed the shit out of me! It seems like she cried in every fuckin chapter! I think the author was trying to make us reader feel sorry for her, but the constant whining, shaking, throwing up, passing out and the self pity bullshit was too much EVEN for me WHO LOVES THIS KIND OF SHIT!

I've been reading this for 3 days, not even close to the end and It made me think.. "Why do I even bother?"

So I gave up. I skimmed throughout and just read the ending. I can now cross this one out!

BTW- I'm not sure why this one is labeled as dark, it sure didn't feel like anything dark to me!

BOOK REVIEW: Nero (Made Men #1) by Sarah Brianne

Nero (Made Men #1) by Sarah Brianne
Series: Made Men #1
Genres: Contemporary Romance, New Adult, Erotic
Publication Date: June 27, 2014
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nero is the king of Legacy Prep, living a life of power. Elle is the school’s punching bag, living a life of fear. The only good girls Nero knows jump in his bed when he tells them to. The closest Elle has come to a bad boy like him is in the cafeteria line. The mob boss gave him orders to find out what she knows. Her mouth is sealed.
I just want to be a fu**ing made man.I’m just a fu**ing waitress.

My Thoughts

Holly Nero this was good! Alpha hero with a weak/abused heroine? I gobbled this shit up and I know what you all thinking..

description

For me this book is quite typical.. Hero is popular, hot, rich.. blah, blah!Heroine is weak, poor and thinks she's plain.. yada, yada!

Same old clichéd theme that we probably read like 13242735 times but NERO has a little spice and twist that made this a little different! H/h are in their 18ish.. so this book is YA genre but with a glorified sexuality.. Am I making sense? No? Ok.

I guess the main reason why I so loved this book is because of NERO. Fuckin NERO CARUSO! He's around 18ish.. (I know right? so young!) but he's very controlling, possessive and manipulative. He's one of those hero that makes you want to..

description

All kidding aside- despite the clichéd plot, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book! I just wish there was, I don't know.. more? Something that would have grip me intensely. But other than that, its a 4.5 stars for me.

This is a great start for a new series and I can't wait for the next book. I'm hoping its Chloe and Lucca! I mean for awhile I shipped Amo/Chloe but the moment Chloe met Lucca? I felt the tension, I don't know what kind of tension.. but there was something deep in there!!

As you can tell, I am in love with Nero.. but Lucca? He's something else.. something dangerously hot. Lol!

Damn it. I need it now!

About the Author

Hey! My name is Sarah Brianne and after living for twenty-two years the characters in my head told me enough was enough and I have finally put pen to paper (or is it finger to keyboard?) to tell their stories. Since I was a little girl I have watched every chick flick I could get my hands on, then when I became older I discovered a whole new world of romance novels. To me there is nothing better then a tale of true love and those are the stories that have inspired me to write. Like everything else in my life I have put my own spin on two lovers destined to be together.

Quick Thoughts: Misunderstood

Misunderstood Misunderstood by Kathryn Kelly
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

description

Ugh.. where to start? I didn't really feel the connection between Johnnie and Kendall. He was still pinning for Meg! I was waiting.. maybe half way of the story he could redeem himself but was so disappointed because by the end of the book he was still hung up on her! I'm all into love triangle stories but this one didn't sit well on me. Johnnie and Kendall together? I didn't believe it. He spent the whole time in love with Megan then few pages he's not anymore? Really?

Kendall was unlikeable heroine in my opinion. This woman has experienced so much shit but I didn't feel any pity or whatever. I liked reading under dog characters but she just felt flat to me throughout the story. -_-

To be honest, Meg stole the show in this book. I didn't like her here. You'd think we had enough of her since ya' know she already had two books in the series but nooooo... the author had to still include her and take a big part in this book too.

Set aside the romance thing going on in the book, I'm still giving this 2ish stars because the story was just all over the place and poorly executed.

I don't know if I'll continue this series. I love the first book and second book came out just okay... then this.. ugh. Disappointed.

Quick Thoughts: Fear Me

Fear Me Fear Me by B.B. Reid
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well... if you're looking for some OTT possessive and mean alpha hero then this book is definitely for you! I've read alot (tons!) of alpha male in my reading life, but KEIRAN is OVER THE TOP! He's down right mean and did some mean things to the heroine but for some weird shit- I LIKEY! O_O

Pretty much the whole thing was quite unrealistic and had some over the top scenarios that made me WTF but despite all that, I still liked it!

So that being said, I'm slapping this as a 5 STARS! LOL!

Book Review: Jaked by Sabrina Stark

Series: Jake #1
Genres: Contemporary Romance, New Adult
Publication Date: Nov 15, 2014
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
For way too long, Jake Bishop has been Luna Moon's ultimate fantasy, a bad boy brawler with a wicked reputation. Lucky for Luna, she's finally wised up to the truth. Jake's too wild, too reckless, and too far out of her league – especially now that he's rich, famous, and too hot for any one girl to hold.
A digital celebrity and trouble-maker incarnate, Jake goes through girls the way some guys go through bottles of booze. Luna, a college grad whose fortunes are flaming out fast, has two jobs, one psychotic ex-boyfriend, and zero interest in repeating past mistakes. From now on, she's determined to play it safe. No more bad boys. No more drama. And no more crushing on the likes of Jake Bishop.
There's only one problem, Jake. One morning, he shows at Luna's place, uninvited, to turn her life upside down. But why? To help her? To hinder her? Or to settle a score long overdue? No matter the reason, Jake Bishop is in for a big surprise, because this brat from his past is all grown up – and capable of bringing the baddest of bad boys to his knees.
A full-length novel, this new adult contemporary romance is the first book in the two-book Jaked series. It features mature content, sexual situations, and adult language. It's not advised for under-age readers.

My Thoughts

This author knows how to hooked and grip you throughout the story! The beginning was unique. I was like "OMG... THIS IS AMAZING!"

At 50% I was questioning myself...

description

The hero is ALPHA, POSSESSIVE and a HOE BAG which I LOVED! Heroine was okay.. kinda-sorta likeable. But...

description

As I mentioned, the author is gifted- she could bring you to la-la land and tell you there is something special in that land and you would believe it!

description

The mystery and suspense was oozing in this book. I couldn't put it down. I got so many questions, Who is chasing after her? Why all of a sudden Jaked showed up and wants to protect her? And the big question is WHERE IS THE STORY GOING?

There were so many unnecessary twist and turn that I just wanted to get to the point! At 50% I was already getting frustrated. The ending left me speechless. It ended in a cliffy and tbh did not resolve or even enlighten me what-so-ever!

Am I the only one who felt like this? Yeah? Ok.

description

I'm slapping this a 4 stars because despite my over dramatic complaints up there, it kept me interested and finished the book in one day!

Once again, gotta hand it to the author..

Quick Thoughts: Shade by Jamie Begley

Shade Shade by Jamie Begley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

description

description

Omfgkkdkemfjeodm!!! I'm about to effing die!
Holly shades! I totally did not expect to get another SHADE book!!!

Edited:

Okay.. I'm pissed! But let me start this by saying- Shade and Lily's love story is EPIC!. I have no other word to describe it. Basically in this book is a re-run (to put it in words) of the previous Last Rider Series but in SHADE's perspective. I'm not a fan of re-reading events from different pov's but I just couldn't skip this one and glad I didn't! Gotta say, SHADE put all the MC heroes into dust!

This is the only MC book that I had really deep connection with.. and thats alot of saying as I've read so many MC books in my reading life time! (lol!)

The book is pretty long as it re-tells some stories from Razer, Viper, Knox, Cash and some of the Biker bitches etc. but even though I've read them all- it still quite different to read in SHADE's pov. It also answered all my questions and doubts I had before.

Also, wow. I didn't even realized until now how SHADE was such a big manwhore. I know he fucked all the girls in the club but in this book, it shows how he was with other women.. it was seeing an old SHADE and a whole new SHADE here.

Okay, I'm going to prettified this later on, but can I just rant for a little bit? That epilogue 3...

description

(view spoiler)

Yeah... I could have live without that epilogue 3! FML!!

Anyways.. sigh.. I'm sorry, I'm just emotionally drained at the moment. I cried like a fuckin baby.. rehearsing that moment over and over again is not what I plan to do for the rest of the week! Maybe I'm over reacting.. I tend to do that when I'm so deep shit with a book. Don't get me wrong, this is a MUST read. I just feel shitty right now I can't even think straight!!

5+++ STARS!

Quick Thoughts: Monster Stepbrother

Monster Stepbrother Monster Stepbrother by Harlow Grace
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

description

2.5 - 3ish Stars! and that is mainly because of the cover and the badass title!

I guess its an Ooooookay read.. typical step sibling love story- hot popular step brother meets the heroine.. etc.. etc.. pretty cliché plot that we probably read so many times by now.

The hero is down right mean.. hot/cold shit treatment to the heroine.. To be honest, nothing special to write off. It didn't blow my mind but I was curious and was itching for some taboo read.. so yeah, this book did the job.

I think I had read so many step brother books lately that I totally feel like throwing up now! LOL.

It's not a mind blowing book but I can say this one is decent if you want some tabooish read ... and believe me when I say this one is okay... because after reading gazillion of these step sibling shit- gotta say, there are really bad ones out there! lol.

Quick Thoughts: Bait & Switch

Bait & Switch Bait & Switch by Kendall Ryan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well.. What can i say..

description

This book has some of my guilty pleasures.. It does (kinda..) have a love triangle and the hero have a detailed sex scene with another woman in here. I'm pretty sure alot would hate this book because of that but for me it has a decent writing and a solid plot. I would give this 3.5ish STARS mainly because I liked everything I mention above! lol
