I may not have special powers, but sometimes I think I'm invisible. No one in my high school seems to notice me at all. When they finally do it's because the popular Tripp Bauer accidently smacks me in the face with a wad of paper. Talk about humiliating.
Only now he keeps talking to me.
At first it was to apologize, and I figured once I forgave him he'd go away. But he doesn't, and now my feelings for him are starting to grow. And that scares me. Guys like Tripp Bauer don't fall for girls like me. Or do they?
My Thoughts
I'm a sucker for popular boy loves unpopular girl.. there is just something about it that NEVER gets old. :)
Tripping me Up maybe your typical love story.. ya know'.. common/plain/unpopular girl meets smoking hot/popular guy? But despite being cliche, the story has some twist that made this book different from the others. It's cheesy, sweet, romantic and triggered me emotionally that I wasn't able to put this down!
Character wise, I like our heroine Hadley, she may look like your good olde weak, shy heroine but once you get to know her, Hadley's character is so much more. What confused me though is that her character was not solid... she goes weak, strong, weak strong... she's shy in school but she's very vocal when it comes to Tripp. But anyway, even though she's shy and such she didn't come off as a shallow heroine.
The hero, Tripp is not my usual type of hero. If you follow me, I like my alpha, jerk-possessive heroes.. but Tripp is totally not! He's a great hero but came off as weak sometimes.. heck.. I was pissed when I saw that he didn't stand up for Hadley when she was getting bullied by her ex best friend and almost close the book and forget I read it but.. sigh.. I was already emotionally invested with the story that even though I was pissed I couldn't put it down. I was frustrated and want to smack the shit out of him to man up and be brave! But it was hard to stay angry with him.. he was adorable and the way he's father was treating him was very heartbreaking... so yeah, you can say that I have a love-hate relationship towards his character. lol.
Overall typical love story with a twist that you would totally enjoy! I actually slept late last night just to finish it! If you're looking for clean romance, sweet, cheesy and emotional then this book is for you! This is my first read from this author and for sure won't be the last!
