Present Perfect by Alison G. Bailey
Series: Perfect #1
Genres: Young Adult, New Adult
Publication Date: Aug 1, 2013
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Amanda Kelly spent her entire life trying to control every aspect of it, while striving for perfection. Her obsession with being perfect, along with her feelings of worthlessness, consumed her. The one thing she thought was perfect in her life was the bond she shared with her best friend, Noah.

Everything was going according to her life plan until she woke up one day and realized she had fallen in love with him. The one thing she couldn’t control was the affect he had on her. Noah had the power to give her one hundred lifetimes of happiness, which also gave him the power to completely devastate her. He was the one thing in her life that was perfect, but she couldn't allow herself to have him.

Her life begins to unravel. Events take over and force her to let go of her dreams and desires. She needs to realize that a person cannot control the events in their life, only their reaction to them...but will it be too late for her to save her relationship with her best friend?

Present Perfect is a story of how past events have present consequences and how perfect your present could be if you stopped fighting and just allowed it to happen.

My Thoughts

5 DELICIOUS-CHOCOLATE-STARS!!!

I just read the most amazing, frustrating, beautiful love story EVER!!! It was so beautiful it touched my fuckin' heart and soul! I'm trying to calm down as I type my little review here.. but my emotions are swarming inside me... It's 4am and my eyes are all freaking swollen from crying!

Amanda and Noah's love story is BEAUTIFUL!

Gosh.. I'm having a hard time writing this review as a lot of things happened in this story. I'm just going to write my thoughts on this book.

“You’ve always been my girl and always will be. No one will ever take me away from you, Tweet. You’re my heart and soul and that’s never going to change, no matter what you say..”

Noah... my god. BEST BOOK BOYFRIEND E.V.E.R!!!!! He's sweet, protective and possessive! He gave me butterflies, goosebumps and tingles.. I just want to lick him all night long!

Noah deserved perfect because he was, and I was as far from perfect as you could get. Plus, we were best friends and I never wanted that to change.

Amanda has a lot of insecurities. While growing up she's constantly being compared to her "perfect" sister that she ended up feeling not good enough to Noah. I love and hate Amanda! okay.. I get it, she has some issues but I hated the way she kept pushing then pulling Noah away. She goes back and forth it gave me one big headache!

Noah had always been my best friend, my partner in crime, my soul mate, the love of my life. My everything.

I'm a little masochist.. I like reading heroine suffering or getting jealous.. so when she kept pushing Noah away and he started hooking up with other girls (Beth, Brittany and Brooke) and how Amanda dealt with it gave me pleasure but heartache at the same time..

Noah deserved perfect because he was, and I was as far from perfect as you could get.

Amanda's notes to her daughter Halle was heart breaking to read! I had to force myself to stop because I couldn't breath.. around 95% of the book was a fucking torture! I kid you not, I felt like I was having a heart attack! Ms. Alison Bailey... YOU ALMOST GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK! You fooled me and played with my emotions... lol.

The epilogue almost killed me.. but thank you.. thank you very much for giving us a HEA. I was ready to stalked you and send you a hateful message! hahaha!

Everyone deserves a thank you and goodbye.

Overall, this book is AMAZINGLY EPIC! Seriously.. I have no other words to describe this book. This is by far my most favorite book this year!

Now I can't wait for Brad's story!! The douchebag is getting his own book.. I didn't see that coming but heck I'm excited! By the preview of it, it's going to be one intense story!

Alison was born and raised in Charleston, SC. As a child she would create (write) additional scenes to TV shows and movies that she watched. She attended Winthrop University and graduated with a major in Theater. While at school she began writing one act plays which she later produced. So she did and fell back in love with it. Present Perfect will be Alison's first self-published book. A few personal facts, Alison loves anything sweet, especially frosting, and is addicted to Diet Pepsi. Alison's philosophy: Don't let your obstacles define you. At times life can get pretty overwhelming, but with a great support system and a lot of humor you can get through them. If you have humor in your life your spirit stays strong and you can tackle anything.
