ARC BOOK REVIEW: Flirting with Disaster (Camelot #3) by Ruthie Knox

Flirting with Disaster by Ruthie Knox
Series: Camelot #3
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: Jun 10, 2013
 My Rating: ♥♥♥♥
In the latest eBook original novel in Ruthie Knox’s scorching-hot Camelot series, a no-strings fling looks an awful lot like falling in love—or flirting with disaster.

Fresh out of a fiasco of a marriage, Katie Clark has retreated to her hometown to start over. The new Katie is sophisticated, cavalier, and hell-bent on kicking butt at her job in her brother’s security firm. But on her first assignment—digging up the truth about the stalker threatening a world-famous singer-songwriter—Katie must endure the silent treatment from a stern but sexy partner who doesn’t want her help . . . or her company.

Sean Owens knows that if he opens his mouth around Katie, she’ll instantly remember him as the geeky kid who sat behind her in high school. Silence is golden, but he can’t keep quiet forever, not with Katie stampeding through their investigation. It’s time for Sean to step up and take control of the case, and his decade-old crush. If he can break through Katie’s newfound independence, they just might find they make a perfect team—on the road, on the job, and in bed.

My Thoughts

Flirting with Disaster is the third book in the Camelot series.

This was a cute, touching love story. I loved the way Ruthie Knox writes interesting characters with flaws personalities. Katie and Sean are both likeable but I have a soft spot for Sean, he stutters and it was heartbreaking to read how he deal with it. I don't remember ever reading a book that has a stutter hero, so this was quite refreshing to read.

It has some angst but not too dramatic that would give you a headache. Sweet and steamy romance that would make you all gooey inside.

Now my only complaint is that the story dragged a little bit, the beginning was engaging and I had a hard time putting it down, but it turned a little slow and it took me awhile to finish the book.

Overall, despite not being able to read the first two books in this series, I still enjoyed Flirting with Disaster. I am blown away by this author and will definitely read her other books!

I received this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

About the Author
Ruthie Knox figured out how to walk and read at the same time in the second grade, and she hasn’t looked up since. She spent her formative years hiding romance novels in her bedroom closet to avoid the merciless teasing of her brothers and imagining scenarios in which someone who looked remarkably like Daniel Day Lewis recognized her well-hidden sex appeal and rescued her from middle-class Midwestern obscurity. After graduating from Grinnell College with an English and history double major, she earned a Ph.D. in modern British history that she’s put to remarkably little use. These days, she writes contemporary romance in which witty, down-to-earth characters find each other irresistible in their pajamas, though she freely admits this has yet to happen to her. Perhaps she needs more exciting pajamas. Ruthie abhors an epilogue and insists a decent romance requires at least three good sex scenes.
