ARC BOOK REVIEW: Obsession (Caballo de Fuego #1) by Florencia Bonelli

Obsession by Florencia Bonelli
Series: Caballo de Fuego #1
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: July 23, 2013
My Rating: ♥♥♥
When Eliah Al-Saud and Matilde Martinez meet on a flight to Paris, they have little in common. Eliah is the rich and powerful son of a Saudi prince, and the owner of a French security company—actually a front for mercenary and espionage services—while Matilde is a pediatric surgeon from Argentina, whose only dream is to work in Africa helping children in need.

Despite their differences—and current relationships—an undeniable attraction swallows them whole, driving them into a whirlwind romance and irreversibly intertwining their devastating secrets, powerful friends, and nefarious enemies. Soon Eliah and Matilde find themselves at the center of a geopolitical nightmare, and not only is their love at risk, but their very lives.

My Thoughts

The prologue was quite confusing! Thought I received a different book..
Then Chapter One finally kicked in..
It was when Eliah saw Matilde in the airport and found her voiced captivating..

Then all throughout the book... I was like this!

and this!

I requested this book from netgalley, the cover looks great and description looks interesting. Someone mentioned that the hero in this book is possessive so I was really looking forward to this book..

Unfortunately I was disappointed; I didn’t like this book at all.  The story is just boring and the dialogue was a bit off that I was struggling to finish it! I noticed this was originally in spanish version and I'm wondering if the author just used a google translator for this.

I like all the characters, Matilde is great, she's nice and sweet! Eliah is possessive, short tempered, flawed and I love the possessive and powerful feeling he has for Matilde but other than that the story was flat!
To be honest I skimmed most of the pages here. The only exciting part in this book was Eliah and Celia, who has been lovers for years and the little confrontation that revealed everything. I was actually expecting more from it, like maybe a cat fight or shoot Eliah.. or Matilde... anyone!... just give me something here coz I'm bored to death! But nope.. the heroine just sulked and Eliah spent most of his time trying to woo her back.

I guess with all the politics and power is just not my cup of tea.
Oh.. and the book ends with a cliffhanger.. how nice.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
