Mafia Captive by Kitty Thomas

Mafia Captive by Kitty Thomas
Genres: Erotic, Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: Apr 17, 2013
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Faith Jacobson was in the wrong place at the wrong time. After witnessing a mob hit, she’s only moments from death when Angelo Raspallo decides to give his brother an unlikely gift.

Leo has avoided involvement with the family business, but it doesn't make him a saint. He’s troubled and ashamed by his darker sexual desires, one of which is to own a slave. But when his brother throws Faith at his feet, repainting the scenario to make Leo the hero rescuing her from certain death, his moral fortitude will be tested. If Faith were kinky, it would be easy to live out his fantasy, but she’s not—not even a little bit. Even the mildest spanking sparks terror in her that Leo can’t bear.

The gift soon becomes a burden as he fights with himself over how to handle the addition to his home. He could release her, but his brother doesn't do loose ends. The only thing keeping her out of the bottom of the harbor is Leo’s mercy. She’s like a beautiful piece of art he keeps in a glass case but can never touch. Is possessing her enough?

My Thoughts

Faith is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.. she just witness a murder and captured by Angelo. Angelo decided to give Faith to his brother Leo as a gift. Leo has long desired to have his own slave but he was repulsed with Angelo's gift.. and yet he couldn't help but fantasized about her and the want keep her to be the perfect slave....

I wanted to read Mafia Captive, but heck it has BDSM with a slave/master theme and I usually avoid that kind of genres so I was putting this off as much as possible. I've been reading a lot of young adult romance lately and felt the need for something new, so why not try this book.

I was not expecting anything from this book other than spanking, master slave etc, but I was wrong... The  story held me captive from the beginning through the end. Despite my reservation with BDSM, I enjoyed this book.

I also enjoyed the scenes with Leo and Caprice.. since I like reading detailed sex scenes with hero and other women, I appreciate that the author included it in the story. :)

Though the ending kinda put me off a little bit... (don't want to put spoilers but..) It was unromantic in my opinion to tell your wife that even if you are married it doesn't change anything... and with the collar thing in the end... it was a wtf moment for me.

Other than that, this is a great twisted dark read. The characters are well formed in all aspects.
Ms. Kitty Thomas is well known for dark twisted stories, so please mentally prepare yourself and keep an open mind before reading this. ^_^

About the Author

Kitty Thomas writes dark literary erotica that explores power dynamics and sexuality. This work is fiction and meant for an adult audience. The author does not endorse or condone any of the behavior carried out by characters in her stories.

Her work is not “erotic romance”. Often on some level it is about love and/or obsession. Often the couple in some way ends up “together”, but the work should not be expected to follow the conventions of any type of genre romance, erotic or otherwise. If you are looking for genre romance (erotic or otherwise), please read a different author. Erotic romance is “more explicit romance”. This is something different.

Inspiration for Kitty’s work comes from many sources including Story of O, Nine and a Half Weeks, and the work of Claudia D. Christian.
