Moon (New Species #10) by Laurann Dohner

Moon by Laurann Dohner
Series: New Species #10
Genres: Erotic, Paranormal Romance
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Dr. Joyce Yards has never met anyone as irresistible as 466. Their therapy sessions are growing hotter, his raw sexual hunger becoming aggressive, and he refuses to discuss anything except the possibility of getting her naked. Joy understands the dire consequences if she indulges her passion. It will break her heart but she must walk away.

Moon has been drugged, his memory shattered, and he’s now little more than feral, a dangerous threat to everyone. In their need for help, the NSO doctors turn to the only female Moon ever cared about—the one who left him behind two years ago.

Moon isn’t the same male Joy once knew. There are no rules now. If sex tames the wild beast and triggers his fractured memories, allowing him moments of lucidity, then Joy will give him everything, body and soul. She’ll do whatever it takes to save him—even at the cost of her own life.

My Thoughts

FANTASTIC!

First of all, I just want to ask Ms. Dohner... Where do you find these cover models?! Do you have a stash of them hiding in your drawers?! The cover for MOON is a sin! My gosh, those abs...shoulders, arms.. and the unnecessary black brief! It should have been lowered damn it!

As a cover wh*re reader like me, I appreciate that an author takes their time choosing a cover for their books. So thank you Ms. Dohner for giving us readers a sexy, lickable, swooning cover!

“I’ve had four serious boyfriends in my life.”
He growled.
“What is wrong?”
“Love is forever.” He gave her a disgusted look. “You have no idea what real love is, Joy.”

The book starts off two years ago... Moon is nothing like how we know him. He's anti-social.. spends way too much time alone, hates sports and doesn't like going to these kind of session. He doesn't talk to her.. until he orders her to make the guard leave the room. On these sessions, they become a little close.. he talks to her but often talks about how much he wants her...

Joy is attracted to Moon. Every session they shared had become too intimate.. her resistant is weakening and so she fled.. Few years later, Moon was shot containing an anonymous poison and became a feral. He's acting crazy and couldn't recognize anyone. Justice called Joy for help and she didn't hesitate. She would risk anything to help him!

Reunited and it feel so good?

I love Joy's character, she's not a wishy washy heroine. I love that she was willing to risked everything just to help him. I felt sorry for her when Moon was pushing her and doesn't want her to be a part of his life.

Is it too late?

Joy had always been a sore spot for Moon. He was hurt that Joy abandoned him, and thinks it would be stupid to let her in his life again.... I have to say that I love all the NEW SPECIES book and have my favorites but now I think Moon is number one in my list! This guy is one hotsweethowlicious! Moon is strong and alpha... well all species are. lol, but I love that he felt vulnerable and afraid to get rejected again by Joy.

The book just makes me want to howl!

It had the right amount of everything from angst, emotions, sweetness, fun,  fights, love that would sucked you right in! It was worth the wait! This book kept me all night I couldn't put it down!

Lauran Dohner doesn't fail to amaze me, each book keeps getting better and better. Every time I read another book in this series I fall in love with new/more characters!

Cannot wait for the next book... I hope it's soon!!!!

About the Author

I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.
