My Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Flattered by the attentions of Nick, the cutest guy in school, seventeen-year-old Grace Warren, captain of the math team, lets down her guard and gets pregnant the night she loses her virginity. Hopeful that Nick will drop to one knee and propose when she breaks the baby news to him, Grace is heartbroken - Nick wants nothing to do with her. Her best friend, Jennifer, thinks she should get an abortion, but Grace is certain that her morally upright parents will insist that she keep the baby.

After she comes clean to her super-religious, strait-laced parents, they surprise her by insisting that she terminate the pregnancy to avoid humiliating the family. But when she sees the fetus on the ultrasound, she decides she can't get rid of it. Deciding to save the tiny life growing inside of her, Grace must face the consequences of being that girl - the good girl who got knocked up.

My Thoughts

I cannot undo my poor judgment, I cannot bridge the abyss that now divides me from my family, and I cannot recapture my lost innocence. But I can make the best of this little detour, learn from it, and move forward into a brighter future. I am more than the sum of my experiences. I am whatever I choose to be.

I finished this in one day! I didn't really expect anything from this book other than it's probably going to be one of those cliche teen pregnancy I always read.. and yes I was right. hehe!  But despite the predictable story, SCREWED offered a lot more.

I can relate to Grace and had instant connection with her character. I got pregnant at a young age too and til now I can still remember how my parents, family and friends reacted to it. Grace journey was somewhat similar to mine, the hatred from her parents, being judge by people and when she went to the doctor... it was a like déjà vu for me. Though I wished I had Charlie beside me. lol.

The characters are likeable and some of them were unbelievable. Story wise its good, I got hooked from the first page. Though I can't understand why all the characters in the book has their POV, even the nurse, doctor, principal and so on. The book is told in third person and the way the author did it with jumping to one pov to another was unnecessary and distracting.

I also didn't buy Charlie... this guy is too... clean. He's amazing, hot, smart, rich, understanding, supportive... the list goes on! I love him but in my opinion, his character is somewhat unbelievable. He was just too darn perfect.

The story is predictable and there were few unbelievable moments but over all the author did a great job and thoroughly enjoyed Grace Journey!

SCREWED is a must read book and I highly recommend it!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
