ARC BOOK REVIEW: He's So Shy by Linda Cajio

He's So Shy by Linda Cajio
Genres: Contemporary Romance
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
In this charming tale, a love for the ages leaps off the silver screen, as a famous movie star emerges from his shell—once and for all.

When Penelope Marsh last laid eyes on the gorgeous man standing before her, Richard Creighton had been a skinny nerd with glasses. Now he’s one of the most popular actors in the world. The only reason he’s back in New Jersey is to play the lead in a period piece directed by Penelope’s cousin. But Penelope’s too old for a schoolgirl crush—especially when the crush in question is a sexy Hollywood hunk.

Still sometimes shocked to be the object of a pretty woman’s desire, Richard is most comfortable with the cameras rolling, hiding behind the mask of his carefully crafted characters. Penelope’s presence on the set brings back memories of his painfully shy childhood—and yet he’s powerfully drawn to the willowy schoolteacher with the long legs and vivid blue eyes. Most celebrity romances must weather promiscuous starlets and invasive paparazzi, but Richard faces a different challenge altogether: proving that he’s come into his own since he was a kid—not to Penelope, but to himself.

My Thoughts

Have you ever wondered what happened to that little ugly ducking after he became a beautiful swan?

Richard was once a nerdy guy and been bullied but now he's a superstar and back in New Jersey to film a new movie. Okay, Richard is my favorite here. Even though he changed, I liked that he's still flawed and has some insecurities.

Now our heroine Penelope.. She's too tall and her hair is kinda orange/reddish. She likes Richard, but scared to move to the next level as she thinks she is not attractive enough for him. There was this scene when Richard was practically begging her to at least try and not give up on them.. and she was just too stubborn. ugh.

Anyway, the attraction between Penelope and Richard was instant and developing into something great but these two have some issues to deal.

I've been meaning to read this in a long time but always always putting it off for no reason. Over all, I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! This captured me from the first page and will definitely read more from Linda Cajio.

Oh! and I love love the cover! ^_^

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
